About The Lego City Passenger Train
The main model in this set is the train itself - it’s a high speed passenger train that is very similar in looks to the German ICE high speed train. It’s made up of a power driving unit (the engine) a carriage and a second dummy drive unit (looks like a train but isn’t powered). All three are connected to each other via magnetic couplings which ensures they don’t come apart when moving, but can be pulled apart by little fingers relatively easy when required.
The train is powered by AA batteries and can be driven forward and backwards at three different speeds using an rc controller, which means no wires to trip over or break! The train also has working lights and horn, and the top of the carriage opens so that lego mini figures can be added or taken out.
The track comprises of sixteen curved rails and four straight rails which when connected together make a loop measuring 71cm x 95cm. Although this is enough track to begin with, we recommend investing in a couple of extra packs of straight rails and points which will allow for bigger and more complex layouts.
The set also includes a small platform with two seats, lamppost, dustbin, vending machine, along with three minifigures - one engineer and two passengers. But the real fun from this set will come when combined with existing City sets and mini figures to create a mini town.
The Lego City Passenger Train is recommended for children 6-12 years old, though younger children may need some help with the construction.
